Reflections provides services that are tailored to suit participants' needs. If you have a special request do not be afraid to suggest it- if we can we will.
The types and amount of each service will vary from person to person with the most common types being:
Home & Community Services
Individualised packages are created with your needs in mind. Options include:
* Social Support (shopping and outings) * Respite Care (giving carers a break)
* Domestic Assistance (Light housework) * Personal Care (showers etc)
Social Groups
Different 'Club' formats run daily (Monday- Friday) and are a great way for people with dementia to socialise and enjoy activities that are tailored to their interests.
The groups are varied to offer something for nearly everyone and include:
- 'MINDPOWER' - these are small social groups for up to 5 people who have been recently diagnosed. The involvement helps participants to create a network of friends and develop skills and strategies to maintain independence. One experienced facilitator provides support for this group.
- SMALL SOCIAL GROUPS- 5-7 relatively fit people within the early stages of dementia are teamed with two trained facilitators to enjoy activities both in the Community and at our Centre in Kuluin. No sitting around staring into space allowed!
- 'THE' CLUB- these are larger social groups for up to 12 participants with two Activity Officers. These run daily (9.30-3.00) from three close to home venues- Bokarina, Kuluin (Maroochydore) and Coolum with lots of outings and special events organised.
Carer Social Groups (Carers Connection)
We hold regular social get-togethers for carers to enjoy the company of others in a similar boat. These both relax and assist carers to develop strategies to cope with the daily curve balls living with a person with dementia will throw.
